About Us

A Little Story About Us

We are a small team, with a very big dream… We want to bring out The Experimental Diner in everyone by launching our very own pop-up chefs table, bringing this to brand new locations and venues for a truly outstanding culinary experience. With so many beautiful and unique places all over the North East, we want to combine this beauty with some stunning food and give people an extraordinary dining experience that they will never forget; from castles and landmarks, to inside city structures, we want to bring out the best of the North East for all to see!

Events Director

As a mum of four, I worked as a nurse for over 20 years but traded in that career for one in events. My organisation and ‘bossy’ skills helped me gain a degree in Events Management, where I learned to refine and use my skills to create exceptional and unusual events. Dine by the Tyne 2016 was a huge success and it led to the creation of The Experimental Diner.
I brought my eldest daughter, Lauren on board to balance the business. While she manages the hospitality side, I run the events side, designing the events, finding the perfect venues and keeping up communication before Lauren takes over to run the event on the day. This is a challenge I am looking forward to facing head on, and to do this with my daughter will make it all the more fun!

After 10 years in the restaurant and hospitality industry, and having done every role that there is to do, I wanted a new challenge. Managing restaurants isn’t exactly easy, but I felt like I needed something more. So when Jacqui (my mum) came to me with this idea, as crazy as it was, I thought why not! It certainly would be a challenge, but it would also use every skill I have learned over the years, and allow me to learn a new industry so in turn learning new skills.
I manage the hospitality aspect of this business; everything from recruiting chefs, creating menus, to then running the event on the day. This is an exciting time in my life and I am looking forward to working on a new challenge, and I couldn’t think of anyone better to do it with!

Our Vision

We want to inspire people to try new things, and step out of their comfort zone, this new kind of dining experience plans to do just that. We bring amazing food to beautiful, historic or landmark places and provide an experience you will never forget. How many people can say you have had dinner in the sky (not just on a plane…) or on the roof of a castle? We want you to be a part of our journey to inspire the North-East culture.
